Dosha Quiz: are you vata, pitta or kapha?

Free, and it only takes a couple of minutes. Answer as honestly as you can and you will find out which of the three doshas runs the show in you — and why the exact thing that works beautifully for your friend does nothing for you.
What the quiz does not measure
A quiz tells you who you are at baseline. It does not tell you what has gone out of order, since when, or where to start. Two women can both come out vata and need opposite things: one has not slept in months, the other has stopped eating. Add reflux, a cycle that has gone missing or a hormonal picture underneath, and what helps one is contraindicated for the other.
That part takes looking at your case, and it is what an online Ayurveda consultation is for.
How to answer it
Answer with what has been true for most of your life, not with what is happening this week. If you are torn between two options, pick the one someone who has known you for years would choose. Do it in one sitting and do not overthink each answer: the first response is usually the accurate one.
What comes out is one of three doshas, or a combination of two. Vata is movement — everything dry, light and irregular. Pitta is transformation — everything sharp, hot and precise. Kapha is structure — everything heavy, steady and slow to shift. The long version is in the three doshas explained; here is how each one shows up in a body.
The doshas in plain terms
1.
Vata
A mind that will not switch off
Light, broken sleep
Cold hands and feet
Irregular digestion, bloating, dryness
2.
Pitta
Sharp hunger, and short-tempered when a meal is late
Heat, acidity, reflux
Skin that reacts and flushes
Impatience, and trouble stopping
3.
Kapha
Heaviness and water retention
Slow starts in the morning
A calm that is hard to shift
Weight that settles and stays
4.
Mixed constitutions
Most people are not one dosha but two, with one clearly in charge
Vata-pitta, pitta-kapha and vata-kapha are the usual pairs
A near-tie is not a fault in the quiz
All three level — tridoshic — is real, and rare
